FME has helped many customers in designing the mechanical parts for their products. We use Inventor and AutoCAD product suites for 2D and 3D modeling to achieve exceptional real-world one time design for manufacturability. We can complete designs from as simple as heat sink to prevent overheating of parts to as complex as a complete automated machine such as a kiosk.
FME has created the firmware in many products and machines that you use daily. We have the ability to program in many languages such as: Visual Basic, C++, and Assembly just to name a few. In the past, we have been recognized by Microchip as an expert in developing firmware for their IC’s.
Systems Design & Engineering
Combining the expertise in project management, circuit design, mechanical design and board layout capabilities, FME can design complete systems. Whether it’s a custom package device or automated kiosk FME has the ability to design and manufacture to your inputs.
Support for Agency Testing
We work with the customer to help secure many agency approvals (UL, EC and ETL). Once the approval is received FME will take care of the audits that are required to maintain the approvals. FME has the capability to do many of the required tests to verify that the parts will meet the approval prior to submission.
FME has experienced personnel that have designed a vast variety of circuits. We have exceptional talents in designing Analog circuits, digital circuits and control circuits. Many of the FME designed control circuits are in kiosk that you may use daily. From Reverse engineering to existing schematic redesign, FME can provide the expertise required to get your product quickly to market.
For printed circuit board layout, FME utilizes world renowned software called EAGLE. EAGLE stands for “Easily Applicable Graphical Layout Editor” and is a sophisticated design software capable of designing 16 layer boards. For build to print type of projects we utilize a Gerber editing software called CAM350. CAM350 contains design for fabrication tools (DFF) that ensure a successful and timely manufacture of bare boards. In turn this drastically prevents problems from arising during fabrication thus increasing efficiency, less risk of design re-spin and, most importantly, successful assemblies that are built faster at a fraction of the cost. We put our years of manufacturing experience into the PCB layout to make sure that we make the boards as manufacturable as possible.
Prototype Assembly & Test
Utilizing the full power of the production equipment to get prototypes built allows quicker turn-around time with more manufacturing input on the designs. To help expedite any mechanical devices required, FME has a U-Print 3D printer and maintains an extremely comprehensive machine shop. The machine shop has 2 vertical CNC machining centers, a CNC Turning Center, CNC Routers and many milling machines. Our test team works with the customer to put together the level of active testing that is required to make sure that the unit meets all of their requirements.
Since the prototypes are run on the main lines and production engineering is involved in the early stages of the prototype transferring to production is quickly accomplished. The Intuitive MRP system will take control of driving the required materials and schedules as quick as the final upload is confirmed.
